As “D Day” approaches for baby boy #3, I find myself searching for ways to cut our budget but still find great products and services that were not available or I didn’t know about with the older boys. So of course, making my own baby food fits under cutting the budget and a new idea that I have not tried before. {Well, with Connor I mashed up some bananas and I think crushed some apples in the blender a few times, does that count?}
I’m sure some of you have already tried this concept, but for the ones like me who have no clue {or think you don’t have the time} or even for you veteran baby food making mamas, I have a great find for you all! Fresh Baby website, newsletter, and products make this process so unbelievable simple! This one site contains all you need to start as soon as baby is old enough, answers all your questions, and provide continuous tips for healthy “eating & feeding” for you and baby. Did you know it should really only take you less than 30 minutes a week to make your baby food? Can you believe it! I’m so excited to get started!

Fresh Baby has been extremely generous to not only donate 3 So Easy Baby Food Kits to our Mother’s Day giveaway but to also include 1 So Easy Baby Food Kit giveaway with this feature! Please leave us a comment with at least 2 “Green Facts” for the environment and/or baby when making your own baby food. {Hint: see the “It’s SO EASY being Green” section of the Fresh Baby home page}. Good luck to all!

less waste and you can use organic food! I am dying for one of these kits!! sassypamelaATgmailDOTcom
No factories are used (cutting down greenhouse gases) and the food is healthy, without preservatives.
I've looked into getting this kit for myself after my little girl comes in August. So excited for it all!
I made 90% of my first child's baby food and am doing the same with #2. This looks like a great product. kat_427[at]yahoo[dot]com
LESS WASTE - When you make your own baby food, there are no jars, labels or metal lids to dispose or to recycle. NO FACTORY REQUIRED - Just a little energy to steam foods and run a blender is all you need to make your baby's meals! Did someone say near 'zero' greenhouse gases?
If it's available in your area, subscribe to a CSA. They usually offer pesticide free or organic produce, which is good for baby. Plus, everything is local. Good fresh produce, organic, and locally grown is better for baby and the environment.
We are big crunchy hippies (ok, not really - we're both regular professionals who like to eat healthy) and we're planning on making our own baby food.
boy this looks cool i love to start makeing my own food
I made all the food for my first baby because I was able to use produce that was LOCALLY PRODUCED and it was so HEALTHY--no chemicals or additives. I like controlling my baby's first foods. I would love to have this kit. It looks easy to use.
No jars and lids to throw out and you can buy local produce fresh from the farmer's market. If I don't win the giveaway I intend to buy one of these kits anyway. Saving money while helping the environment is a no brainer!!!! Melissa msawulak@verizon.net
I'm pregnant with number 3. Made all my own food with my 2 daughters. I loved finding local, organic produce. It's so easy, it'd surprise people who think otherwise! Plus, there's less waste (no jars!) and organics are better for the environment. Would love a kit to aid in baby 3's food production! junk@thechoes.com
no BPA, preservatives or additives
low energy usage
Less waste and no preservatives. You can buy local, organic and know what is really going into your babies food. This is a great kit!
I definitly love the idea of less waste. And the fact that alot of babyfood jars have BPA in them worries me (didn't know that). So the healthy aspect of it is a plus. And buying locally has always been important to me.
Organic fruits and vegetables reduce harm to the environment.
Making my son's own baby food reduces waste from jars, labels, lids, etc.
Making my son's own baby food is safe and nutritious. No preservatives, chemicals, additives...etc.
With all the concerns and confusion about the effects of BP-A, I want to limit my little ones exposure as much as possible, plus my family tries to support local business, including farmers, both of which are great parts of making your own baby food.
Plus, preparing meals for my my family is one of my favorite ways of showing them my love, why wouldn't I want to do the same for our newest member? :)
I made all of my daughter's food and I loved it. I would go to the farmer's market and pick out the fruits and veggies I would use. Two of the most important factors for me was that they were organic and locally grown. From there I knew they would be the healthiest option for her. I would love this kit to be able to use with my son who is due this month!
